enterprise partnerships

At GSEN recently we have been building a relationship with Connect to Grow, who are helping ambitious enterprises to grow through innovation and partnerships. Discover more about this initiative below and hear from their team directly on how you can take part.

Want to support an innovative programme for enterprise growth?

Funded by the UK government, Connect to Grow is an enterprise growth and partnership initiative that creates win-win partnerships between enterprises in south Asia and Africa with those in India.

The concept is simple: harness the incredible potential of India’s more advanced small- and medium-sized enterprise landscape offering affordable innovation to support the growth of enterprises amongst all of the UK’s Department for International Development’s (DfID) priority countries.

The ambition is to support thriving ventures that have adapted proven Indian innovations in their own countries, to deliver sustained change.

Finding business partnerships, especially those in foreign markets, can be challenging. Connect to Grow helps to facilitate this by providing customised technical support and grants.

It tests the potential of enterprise partnerships and spread of innovation in delivering both social and commercial impact to different countries in Africa and south Asia.

Want to become a local support partner for Connect to Grow?

The initiative’s success depends both on strong local partners with a solid understanding of growth opportunities in their countries and the types of enterprises best-placed to take advantage of them.

We also know that local partners can help us identify enterprises that can:

  • Deliver social benefits related to the health and agriculture sectors (the sectors chosen for Connect to Grow)
  • Provide evidence of existing market networks and customer bases
  • Benefit from partnership and innovation from an Indian enterprise.

We are looking for long-term relationships with local partners that can support the programme and help enterprises grow.

What’s the process?

First, we sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with local organisations which fit the initiative, then ask those organisations to contact suitable enterprises that they know.

Many provide us with enterprises’ contact details so we can contact them directly, but others have agreed to outreach on our behalf which instils a closer relationship with the initiative and builds trust with the enterprises.

In exchange for this support, Connect to Grow will:

  • Profile your organisation on the Connect to Grow website
  • Consider you first for assistance and facilitation to support enterprises
  • Share knowledge of what helps enterprises to grow.

So far, we have signed 11 MoUs with some excellent organisations and are looking for more partners! If you want to help us deliver one of the development world’s most innovative programmes for enterprise growth, email info@connecttogrow.org
